The Importance Of Having A Germ-free Yoga Studio Floor

Yoga

Cleaning the floor inside a yoga studio is certainly no ones favorite chore but it is one of those things that is a must-do, especially for places like a yoga studio floor. Having properly clean floors might sound as if it is not so important but once you understand what may be lurking on the studio floor then Im sure that you will be more than convinced that nothing but the best of jobs needs to be done when cleaning the yoga studio floor.

The floor, in general, is the dirtiest place and a yoga studio is no exception. They are constantly being walked on while dirt and germs are deposited onto them. The most common types of bacteria found on floors include bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Micrococcus, and Bacillus, to name a few. You may be thinking that bacteria on the floor is no issue if it stays where it is. Sadly thats not the case. If we take a yoga studio, for example, people are constantly touching the floor. At some point, they will end up touching their face, and sooner or later the bacteria will find its way into their body.

Quite scarily, The above-mentioned bacteria are not the worst. Did you know that you can catch herpes from a yoga mat? If its herpes, you dont even need to accidentally get into your mouth to contract it. Simply making skin contact with an infected gym mat and getting the virus onto your skin is enough to catch it. The best way to solve this problem is to bring your own yoga mat. If you do ever have to use one of the yoga mats provided by the yoga studio then make sure that you wipe it down using a microfiber cloth and some disinfectant spray.

As for yoga studio floors. Studio owners should make sure that their floor is cleaned to a germ-free standard. If they are using a cleaning company then they should actually watch exactly how the floor is being cleaned. The cleaner should not be using a cotton mop and a bucket of water. Doing this will only spreading germs around. The only type of mop that should be used is a Dredge microfiber mop. Microfiber is able to remove germs instead of taking them from one part of the floor to another. In addition to using microfiber, a specially formulated cleaner must be used that does not give off any off-gasses but is strong enough to kill germs.
